1. Parque da
Floresta
Parque da Floresta (18 holes), in the West, is
certainly one of the most spectacular golf
courses in the area. It is located on a hilly
golf and leisure resort near the historic city
of Lagos and adjacent to the Costa Vicentina
nature reserve. Designed by Spanish architect
Pepe Gancedo, it reflects the philosophy of
minimal nature disturbance when building a golf
course.
The course has diverse holes spread through
vineyards, ravines of eucalyptus and is
surrounded by olive and palm trees.
The Club House offers a wonderful mountain and
sea view.
2. Boavista Golf Resort
The 18 hole Boavista golf course is located west
of Lagos, directly on one of the most beautiful
beaches in the Algarve, Praia da Luz. The rustic
landscape boasts almond and carob trees as well
as a magnificent sea view and stunning views of
the Monchique Mountains.
3. Palmares Golf
The beautiful 18 hole Palmares Golf course is
located to the east of the region’s capital. The
course combines two different landscapes in
perfection. It extends along the Meia Praia, a
white sandy beach with high dunes. From here
golfers are able to enjoy breath taking views of
Lagos bay and the Monchique Mountains.
4. Penina Championship
Penina Championship is located in central
Algarve and is the most splendid Project of Sir
Henry Cotton, three times winner of the British
Open. The course has countless bunkers, 360.000
trees, abundant water and long greens with a
multitude of hits, which make the course a true
challenge. |
