WHO WE ARE
Dear Guest,
I would like to introduce myself to you and just give you a little background on how I ended up in this beautiful part of the Western Algarve.
With many years travelling the world in the international hotel industry, in 1985 I came over to the Algarve on holiday and saw it was a superb location to start a hotel. A magnificent historical villa, outbuildings and grounds, previously owned by an English Aristocrat, came onto the market and I immediately fell in love; its prime location nestled above Praia da Canavial and the serenity and beauty of Lagos. For the past sixteen years, this wonderful setting has been home to Hotel Romantik Vivenda Miranda, currently the only Romantik Hotel in Portugal which provides a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
With Hotel Romantik Vivenda Miranda firmly established, and with fortuitous timing, a stunning piece of headland adjacent to Vivenda Miranda was for sale. Having lived very happily here for twenty years, I would like to give the opportunity for others to have their own home here at the very first 5-star Resort in Lagos, namely, Cascade Resort. The same philosophy of Hotel Romantik Vivenda Miranda will be adopted across the Resort. I also believe that whilst developing a new Resort, it is absolutely vital that we remain true to the heritage of Portugal and the indigenous wildlife, flora and fauna; the lush gardens and rock pools have been specifically designed in an eco-friendly manner.
In 1990 I found a Quinta; a piece of land and a beautiful typical Portuguese country house for a new project – somewhere slightly different and off the beaten track. Quinta das Barradas is tailor-made for families and provides a nanny service. The Quinta is extremely tranquil, relaxed and an extremely safe environment for parents and their children.
I trust that this has given you a brief insight into my history, and the environment that I and so many others enjoy living and working in, and of course, that you will with luck take pleasure in. I hope you enjoy taking the tour around the remainder of the Cascade Resort website.
